The Rockefeller Group, Inc.
Serving the Rockefeller companies prior to the Rockefeller Center’s ownership transfer, Bonsignore Architects, P.C. was retained to consolidate and relocate The Rockefeller Group’s headquarters.
The project entailed the planning of general offices, executive offices, a reception area, and an MIS facility with engineering coordination of all electrical, mechanical, communication and security needs. We felt that the proper selection of finishes would bring the distinct departments together as well as give the personnel a sense of renewal. A carpet was selected with colors and texture that worked well with the colors and materials of the multitude of furniture being re-used. Some Art Deco pieces were incorporated into a theme in the reception area and elevator lobby to recall an era gone by. Contemporary details were developed throughout the space as contrast to the past.
Additionally, we developed an inventory listing of furniture to be relocated. Furniture plans were prepared to show existing locations as well as relocation destinations. These plans, furniture labeling system, and particular office layout drawings that were located at the destinations prior to the move were instrumental in making the move a smooth and expedient procedure.
