Fiduciary Trust Company International

Our association with Fiduciary Trust Company International dates back to 1967. In the early 1970’s an expansion and relocation project was executed on four floors at Two World Trade Center. This installation was an open landscape plan that had no private offices.

In 1994, a reconfiguration of all floors was completed totaling 210,000 square feet of space. The open landscape plan design approach was maintained. With the influx of furniture systems and casegood products, we designed the facility with a high degree of flexibility and variety. The result was a compilation of components that were readily demountable and interchangeable making reconfigurations manageable.

A variation to the open plan theme was developed as Fiduciary Trust Company International moved from the column less floor plates at the World Trade Center to the column riddled floor plates at Rockefeller Center due to the tragedy of September 11^th. Recognizing the density of the floor plans, Bonsignore Architects, P.C. set out to create as many circulation paths as possible while maintaining a sense of privacy and comfort. The employee’s work environments were situated below coffered ceilings. Non-handed custom furniture was designed to provide flexibility and minimal disruption during future reconfigurations.
